White Paper Title:
TECHNICAL NOTE - Impact of CO2 Utilization on Concrete Pore Solution pH
Sean Monkman, PhD PEng, Vice President of Technology Development,
Concrete pore solution pH is notably decreased in concrete subjected to weathering carbonation. CarbonCure Technologies focuses on using early age carbonation, which doesn’t have the same negative impacts as weathering carbonation, and uses CO2 to produce better concrete. Research has shown that carbon dioxide does not impact the pore solution pH of cement paste samples produced with carbon dioxide added during mixing.
