Ozinga Blankets Greater Chicago Area with CarbonCure

Ozinga installs CarbonCure in 3 additional plants including Des Plaines, their largest facility

Chicago-ILOzinga will be offering concrete made with CarbonCure’s CO2-recycling technology across the Greater Chicago Area, as it announced today three additional installations of CarbonCure's technology. Ozinga was so impressed with the environmental and economic benefits that the technology provides, that it decided to adopt the technology at its Lemont, Northside, and Des Plaines plants.

Since adopting CarbonCure's technology, Ozinga’s leadership in sustainability has been recognized by the local design community. After installing the CarbonCure technology in their Chinatown plant, Ozinga was awarded the US Green Building Council’s Emerald Award for Environmental Excellence

CarbonCure’s technology is helping more than 50 concrete producers like Ozinga save on their production costs, while also allowing producers to offer green concrete to the growing green building and green transportation markets.          

How does CarbonCure's chemistry work?

CarbonCure's technology offers concrete producers an opportunity to recycle waste carbon dioxide (CO2) into concrete to increase its environmental, material, and economic performance. Not only is the CO2 permanently converted into a solid mineral within the concrete, but the addition of CO2 also improves the compressive strength of concrete. This allows concrete producers to optimize their mix designs to unlock operational cost savings.

How does CarbonCure's chemistry work?

Ozinga’s next feature green project, the new +PlusHouse project, is a LEED Silver residential development project that incorporate a variety of green technologies and practices to improve air quality and energy savings.
